Description
Acting is a powerful craft that blends self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and expressive technique. This course introduces foundational acting methods applicable to both stage and screen, helping participants build authentic performances from the inside out. The curriculum begins with warm-up techniques and physical awareness, emphasizing posture, movement, breath control, and vocal clarity. You’ll explore core acting methodologies including Stanislavski’s system, Meisner repetition, Uta Hagen’s substitution, and Michael Chekhov’s psychological gesture. Through monologue and scene study, students learn how to break down scripts, understand subtext, establish objectives, and build relationships with scene partners. On-camera modules will address frame awareness, continuity, blocking, and adapting performances for close-ups versus wide shots. You’ll also work on cold reading, audition preparation, and improvisation techniques that foster spontaneity and creativity. Emphasis is placed on emotional availability, character motivation, and truthful reactions—skills that translate across mediums. Taught through exercises, peer feedback, and recorded practice, this course helps actors develop versatility, discipline, and the ability to deliver compelling performances whether on stage or on screen.
